This past Saturday, Everygirl editor Alaina Kaczmarski (pictured here with Abigail Jacobs, West Elm director of public relations) teamed up with West Elm and Etsy to curate their We Heart Handmade Art event in Chicago. Thirteen local Etsy sellers came to the Lincoln Park store and set up shop while customers perused the diverse mix of hand-crafted goods and West Elm products.
Handmade items for sale included brass earrings and necklaces from Laura Lombardi jewelry;
screen-printed t-shirts, bags, and other knitwear from Megan Lee Designs;
letterpress cards from Steel Petal Press;
pillows from Red Bird Vintage Home;
and mounted photographs from Tracy Capone Photography. Other shops present at the event were Yellow Lion screen prints, Allison Mooney jewelry, My Heart Beats Art paintings, One Honey honey products, Truche jewelry, Mary Wells hand-stitched critters, Silly Buddy dog bow tie collars, and Paper Parasol letterpress cards.
Chicago DJ Megan Taylor looked adorable as always in her sheen dress and jean jacket.
Editors Danielle Moss and Alaina Kaczmarski regularly defer to West Elm when they’re on the hunt for budget-friendly home goods. If you’ve been following along on Twitter, you probably noticed Alaina’s been using West Elm’s basic knife set (as seen in Kitchen Essentials for The Everygirl). They’ve proven their worth as she slices and dices her way through all five recipes from the Dinners are Served: Ten Meals for Under $50 this week!
