#1: HOLIDAY SHOPPING

“From a sartorial perspective, I’d argue that layering season is the most wonderful time of the year–and being an East Coast (former Midwest) gal, I know the importance of having an arsenal of winter-weather gear. My Midwestern girls know – a cute coat is well worth the small splurge. You’ll be wearing it for months to come! I opted for a neutral hue so that it pairs well with everything in my closet.”

“The best thing about crisp, cold weather that sends me straight into the arms (quite literally) of warm winter jackets and cozy cable-knit sweaters. These seasonal separates are a girl’s MVP (Most Versatile Piece). Wear-with-anything, walk-anywhere black booties will also be your BFF (best footwear friend).”

#2: FRIENDS GIFT EXCHANGE

Kate of The Fancy Pants Report // photos by Tyler Ball

“Gift exchanges with girlfriends and family call for all things stylish and comfy! Start with your favorite tee and then add on the layers to strike that perfect balance.”

“Throw on a chunky cardigan for a cozy, festive look. Try cuffing the sleeves for a more styled and structured feel. I went with wide-leg jeans, which are are ultra-flattering on any body type (yes, even petites!) My tip: take them to a tailor who can hem them to the perfect length. Just be sure to wash and dry them first!

Lauren of Lauren-Nelson.com // photos by Regina Strauss

“When it comes to the holidays, I love pieces that I can wear and re-wear to multiple parties and events. Dresses are my go-to simply for the fact that you can easily pair them with tights, a statement coat, and heels and voila, you are ready to go!”

“Don’t forget your accessories! With the winter months in full swing, remember that your winter-wear can be just as chic as your holiday attire! Think colorful hats, scarves, and gloves.”

#4: CHRISTMAS MORNING

Jessica of Bows & Sequins // photos by Lydia Hudgens

“Christmas morning is always a festive, fun, cozy, and casual affair in my family. We spend the morning sipping peppermint hot cocoa, unwrapping presents in our PJs, and sitting around the table enjoying a delicious brunch.”

“Stripes and plaid are one of my favorite ways to mix prints, especially during the holiday season. Since the fireplace is usually roaring on Christmas morning, plaid pajama shorts are just right! Keep your toes toasty with cable-knit skipper socks and an oversized striped turtleneck (my very favorite!) for a look that’s cute and cozy.”
